No person shall pick any flower or flowers growing in any public park or place in the city, except by the express authorization of the superintendent thereof.

This is quite reasonable, actually. Places like Golden Gate Park in San Francisco would not want their carefully cultivated dahlias to be mauled by the public. It costs money to maintain them and they want them to stay looking nice.

oh geeeeeeeeeeez. i almost got attacked by a pack of angry middle aged jogging women who hissed at me and said ‘we seeeeeeeeee yooooooo’ lol i was gone from the scene and at home enjoying my beautiful vase of wild flowers by the time they could have gotten their sorry asses around to reporting me.
