It’s Illegal to hunt camels in Arizona

I didn’t even know there were camels in Arizona.  But, I guess they were brought in by the US Army in the past in an experiment and then set free in the Arizona desert after the experiment was over.

    They were brought in to replace horses and mules in the southwestern desert areas which included Arizona. However they were no longer needed for commercial and mlitary uses and were set free and ended up becoming a nuisance to ranchers in the area so they were shot. I don’t know if any feral camels live in arizona anymore.
