It’s illegal to have sex in Florida
This law doesn’t even have the language of “with another person” in it so it’s illegal to even masturbate.
798.02 Lewd and lascivious behavior.
If any man and woman, not being married to each other, lewdly and lasciviously associate and cohabit together, or if any man or woman, married or unmarried, engages in open and gross lewdness and lascivious behavior, they shall be guilty of a misdemeanor of the second degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082 or s. 775.083.

Well, look carefully at part “open and gross lewdness and lascivious behavior” about married people. If they don’t do it openly, the other two parts wont matter.
That as an example.
And the rest, even if interpreted as “not allowed to have any kind of sex (unless married)” is really not that dumb alone, just (overly) religious.

I read the sections and sub-sections and whoever wrote these laws into the Florida criminal code of law did so cause he wanted all the chicks for himself… that greedy bastard… give me a break what do all Canadian guys go down to florida for to soak the sun… no they go down to experience what Jefferson told us… which is to purse the pursuit of happiness which is drill till u drop…

The only time someone is charged with this particular crime is if they are masturbating in a public restroom as was some guys in the mall at the Sears in Daytona Beach. A second degree misdemeanor id as serious as smoking in an elevator or spitting on the sidewalk.

Maybe there’s more to it than the section we’re shown. If not, then it’s the dumbest, most irrational law I’ve ever heard of. Even Maryland’s legislation is more liberal than what we see here. Anyways, all the high-schoolers here totally ignore the law and all the laws concerning drugs. >_>

This law has been canceled in 2003 by the supreme court’s decision of “Lawrence v. Texas, 539 U.S. 558.”
Look it up.
People can now have sex in their homes, imagine that.
