This law is to prevent the cruel and inhumane practice of confining the sow to a cage so small she can not even turn around or stand up. So many of these laws have a very serious purpose and are considered stupid by those that are.

cruel and inhumane if you are both ignorant and retarded.
The sow boxes prevent the sow from crushing her own piglets and injuring herself. But it LOOKS cruel so they banned it.

Does either of you have a degree related to veterinary knowledge? No? Okay, then who cares, we don’t have pigs and if the sow wants to kill her babies it won’t matter, we’re gonna eat her, too, anyway.
