Husbands are responsible for criminal acts of their wife(wives)!

Ok, yes polygomy is illegal and that part was only a joke. Husbands are responsible for any crime committed by his wife while in his presence.

  • Actually the FLDS (or Fundamental Latter Day Saints) are polygamists. Most of them are anyway. But yes…Most people in Utah are NOT polygamists.

Actually, no they don’t. They do not practice polygamy because it is illegal in the United States. The Book of Mormon states that it’s deciples shall follow the law of the land on which they are living. There are some Mormons who will break off from the church and say that they are still Mormon, just a different denomination, but they are not recognized by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Think about it this way. If you’re Christian, and someone in your church runs off and kills people and says that it’s part of their religion, would you still recognize them? I know that this is a common misconception, but I just thought I would let you know! (:

  • Depends on the people in Utah that practice polygamy.
The Mormon church only outlawed it due to an agreement with the U.S. government, so Utah could be officially recognized as a state.
And so they could gain a better public reputation.
Besides, the Mormon church does technically practice it through their teachings, as stated in their doctrine and covenants, that a man shall have multiple wives in heaven.
    So…. Yeah >>
