It’s illegal to be a fortune teller
|I guess that psychic hotline wasn’t based in Indian Wells afterall.

i agree with carl, psychics and astrologers have just as much right to make money in their own respective fields as anyone working in a church do cause honestly if the preachers and priests believe they are the voice and embodiment of their god then they have no use for material things such as money yet fools give their money all the time to churches
It must not be very illegal in Texas, as there has been a gypsy fortune teller down the street from me practically forever!
I agree with some of the people above. This law means well, to help those who are taken by unethical frauds but it also hinders those who do have a legitimate gift. This is why police dept who use a psychic cannot say that in public. It is also why the actual true nature of the spirit world and other paranormal is still unrealised. These things are true whether people believe or not. Yes, there are frauds. there are frauds in every field to include ministers, politicians etc and who gain money by people believing them. and really none can prove any thing is given to the people paying the money. But whenever anyone says that they know the absolute or only truth. when they start talking along a fear based angle, when they say you have to do this or that and give you no choice then run very fast, very far away. no one knows the real truth. it is all about choice. and the last thing, is that it is all about belief. If your belief system is not fear based, you can protect yourself from almost anything. But if your belief system is built on fear, then you are open for almost anything.
I agree that this is a stopid law and that some people who make predictions actualy try to avoid WORLD WAR III ,just google Bruce Bueno de Mesquita.
While its understandable that there are many scam artists who take advantage of it, this law also keeps individuals who have a legitimate ability from being able to make a living with it. Its like making it illegal for an artist to sell their artwork.
This isn’t a stupid law. There a many scam artists who use the fortune telling racket to to bilk people out of hundreds and thousands of dollars.
why not its the persons choice to go to a fortune teller and alot of times it gives people hope and sometimes good advice and everybody has to make money somehow especialy in this resession so i dont know what your talking about dumbass
You can get better advice from a fortune cookie than these charlatans. But you are right about a person’s right to choose and to make a fool of themselves if they want to.
It’s not illegal to go to cthurch, and the preachers and priests are peddling ignorance and superstition Sunday after Sunday. I say if people want to go to psychics and astrologers, they have just as much right to waste their money as the fools who give their tithe to the churches.
