According to this, you cannot collect your own reward money in North Carolina, she robbed a bank and tried to collect her own reward.

Should a criminal be allowed to capitalize off their crimes? Write a book or movie script off their own crime?
Yes, this is a step beyond what this law says, but the original law could be used here to some extent. This law could have been written better to include my above points other than the obvious no-brainier of collecting your own reward law.
