Mispronouced town name = $5 fine

A $5 fine can be issued if you mispronounce the Joliet town name.  The correct pronunciation is “Joe-Lee-Ette”.

  • Well, I think they want people to say their name correctly. I know i would want people to call me by my correct name. I just may start charging 5$ for mispronouncing my name. Plus it looks like their town name is Toilet!..O SHIZ! i just may be charged $5 just there.

  • I go to school in Joliet, never actually seen this enforced. Next time I go to the library and here someone say it like “Jolly-ette” I’m gonna say “You owe Joliet $5 now!”
