Kids beware: no concealed slingshot without a licence
It’s always refreshing to see toys catagorized as a firearm whereas pocket knifes are exempted in the law reguarding concealed weapons.
9.24.020 Carrying a concealed weapon.
It is unlawful for any person other than a law enforcement officer to carry concealed about his person, in any manner, a revolver, pistol or other firearm or knife (other than an ordinary pocketknife), or a dirk or dagger, slingshot, metal knuckles or an instrument by the use of which injury could be inflicted upon the person or property of another, except that any person in possession of a valid State of Alaska concealed weapon permit may carry a weapon as allowed by that permit.
(Ord. 397 5(part), 1986, Ord. 774 5, 10/14/98)
Related Stupid Laws, Crazy Laws, and just plain Stupid Laws:
- Concealed weapons are allowed….unless they are over six feet
- It’s illegal for kids to play on the sidewalk
- Slingshots are illegal in urban service district
- Slingshots are only to be used by police officers
- It’s Illegal to carry a BB gun or slingshot in Nome
