Driving in circles prohibited on 23rd Avenue
Make sure you Google Map your directions before driving in Moline, Illinois. This law prohibits driving aimlessly around town.
Related Stupid Laws, Crazy Laws, and just plain Stupid Laws:
- Driving in circles is against the law.

- No standing on the 500 block of Illinois Avenue

This law was made because teenagers would “cruise the ave” on weekends causing the roads to become a drag racing haven and a group hang out. Unfortunately this problem injured many young people; thus a law was passed. I believe the signs say “No repetative driving or loitering”. Though it seems silly to many people, including me, I think the Avenue is a safer place because of it.

I cruised the avenue every weekend in high school (Class of 2000.) I not once saw an injury. Who cares if people drive on the same road repetedly. At least they weren’t at some night club getting high of coke, or in some allys having sex with anyone, or hotel parties, or whatever.
