That’s right don’t sit down on that sidewalk or you might be subject to a fine!
Sec. 24-17. Impeding sidewalk.

It shall be unlawful for a person to stand or sit on a city sidewalk or city right-of-way so as to impede, physically or by intimidation, free and uninterrupted pedestrian passage. A violation of this section shall be a class C misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be punishable by a fine not to exceed five hundred dollars ($500.00).

No glue sniffing!
In Galveston, Texas it’s illegal to sniff glue!
Sec. 24-2. Model glue.

(a) As used in this section the term “model glue” shall mean any glue or cement of the type commonly used in the building of model airplanes, boats, and automobiles, containing toluene, acetone, or other solvent or chemical having the property of releasing toxic vapors.
(b) No person shall, for the purpose of causing a condition of intoxication, euphoria, excitement, exhilaration, stupefaction, or dulling of the senses or nervous system, intentionally smell or inhale the fumes from any model glue.
(c) The provisions of subsection (b) shall not apply to the inhalation of any anesthesia for medical or dental purposes, if such inhalation is caused by or administered by any licensed doctor, physician, dentist, anesthesiologist, or other licensed person engaging in the medical or dental profession.

Don’t land your plane on the beach
It is illegal to do so.
Sec. 8-11. Landing aircraft on beaches.

It shall be unlawful for any person to land or take off or operate any aircraft on the beach and what is commonly known as Seawall Boulevard except at heliports designated and approved by the Federal Aviation Administration.

No littering out a plane
Don’t litter from an airplane! It’s against the law.
Sec. 20-9. Dropping from aircraft.

No person in an aircraft shall throw out, drop or deposit within the city any litter, handbill or any other object.

No beer on the playground without a permit
You can’t get drunk or have been in a park or playground without a written permit from the director of parks and recreation.
Sec. 26-4. Alcoholic beverages.

It shall be unlawful for any person to consume, carry or bring any alcoholic beverage in or upon any park or playground in the city without a written permit from the director of parks and recreation.

No speeding on a bicycle
They must be operated at reasonable speeds.
Sec. 9-4. Speed.

No person shall operate a bicycle at a speed greater than is reasonable and prudent under the conditions then existing.
